Happy Thanksgiving 2017

I'd like to take a moment to wish family, friends, readers, and supporters a Happy Thanksgiving. This year, as I approach some pretty major transitions, I'm thankful for 20 years of friendships forged and memories made around the world at sea, in the air, and - occasionally - in the bar. I'm thankful for the opportunity to have spent the last three years living and playing in the Last Frontier.

I'm grateful and heartened by the support and encouragement of friends and family as I prepare to embark on a rather uncommon - at least for retired officers - second career. I'm very appreciative of the opportunity afforded to me by the team at SnowPak, who have provided what has amounted to a paid internship in content writing and the chance to start building a body of work (which you can see here).

But most of all, I'm especially thankful for the support, encouragement, and love from my wife Karissa. She's endured our working in separate places while I conclude one career, and has been my most ardent supporter as I start a new one... one that I'm suspect might have other spouses a little bit skeptical.

Enjoy the football, family time, food, and everything else that's part of your celebration!
